Composed by: Mehrnoosh Zolfaghari & Amin Khoshsabk (Prepared for Santoor and Live Electronics)
About the Piece:
This piece is actually a simple etude which is the final project of a 5-day workshop on Live Electronics. This workshop was held in 2017 in University of Tehran by Joachim Heintz, head of the electronic studio FMSB in the institute for new music Incontri at the HMTM in Hannover (Hanover University of Music Drama and Media). We used what we had learned to write a program in Csound, an audio programming language, for creating this piece which is actually based on improvisation. The Csound patch has been made in a way to produce 3 delayed lines (Shadows), each one with one minute delay. The Santoor player must improvise according to the score and the one who controls the MIDI Controller must use the volume sliders to control the sound. In order to create different constructions, he or she can improvise too. The Shadows was reconstructed and recorded again in 2020. Santoor: Mehrnoosh Zolfaghari, Live Electronics: Amin Khoshsabk
